The big news in the world of Major League Baseball this week was undoubtedly the brawl that happened late in a game between the Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals. With the severity of the situation in this instance, it was assumed that MLB would be handing down some serious punishment.

Well, the suspensions were announced on Saturday.

Of course, it’s no surprise that Yordano Ventura got the worst of it all, seeing as he was the one that really brought things to the boiling point late in the game when he mouthed a profanity after fielding a ground ball from Adam Eaton. As you’d imagine, as he was running down the base line, Eaton didn’t take too kindly to the comments and the fight was on from there as the benches cleared.

Now Chris Sale, aside from him being the one in the group getting the second-most games with five, he made headlines afterwards when it was reported that he actually tried to get into the Royals’ clubhouse while the game was still going on to get his hands on Ventura.

This was the third brawl that the Royals were involved in this season and we haven’t even hit the month of May yet. Maybe these suspensions from today will send a clear message. Well, hopefully to Ventura, at least, who has been a big part of the problem.
