The Cleveland Cavaliers are off to the next round of the NBA Playoffs, but all focus at the moment is on Kevin Love and how injured his shoulder is.

Kevin Love wasn’t much help for the Cleveland Cavaliers in their Game 4 win over the Boston Celtics thanks to a dislocated shoulder he suffered in the first quarter of the content. Love wasn’t his usual laid back self about the injury after the game, and noted that he believed that the injury was on purpose and that Kelly Olynyk was a dirty player.

But beyond the nature of the play, the focus is on how long Kevin love will be out and how big of an impact this will have on the Cavaliers immediate future in the postseason.

After the game, the Cavaliers refused to be definitive about Love’s status but there seems to be some cautious optimism in the locker room that the injury isn’t serious.

The nature of a dislocated shoulder largely dictates how long it takes to recover, and the Cavaliers being optimistic about the injury is encouraging for fans in Cleveland.

Iman Shumpert missed significant time with his dislocated shoulder in December and he didn’t make his debut with the Cleveland Cavaliers until well after he was acquired. That was a significant injury, but if the Cavaliers aren’t believing that Kevin Love’s injury is on that level, then hw could end up only missing a few games.

The best case scenario for the Cavaliers is if the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks go at least six games in their series — seven being the best option. This gives Love the maximum amount of time to heal and could end up putting him in a situation where he may not even miss a game at all.

That’s being very optimistic, but the Cavaliers don’t seem to be outwardly concerned about Kevin Love and that’s a very positive sign.
