Where is Peyton Manning in Dave’s too early top 100 list?

Well the 2015 NFL Draft starts this Thursday April 30 and with the buzz surrounding it I can hardly wait until August and everyone is getting ready to draft for their favorite fantasy football leagues. The lovely thing about the NFL and their calendar is that there is hardly ever really an off-season when it comes to covering and learning what your favorite team is doing and how it will affect your fantasy football teams.

Many of us are involved in keeper and dynasty leagues and I will aim to do a keeper/dynasty league top 100, but for this post and this list we will stick to strictly re-draft leagues. I may make note on a few players here or there on whether I like them in keeper/dynasty leagues and if I would consider trading for them in this off-season before they explode this year.

What a fall it was for Montee Ball. He started out last season with a ton of hype and many of us, myself included bought into the hype and wound up highly disappointed. A few guys in this part of the list I won’t own on my teams are Percy Harvin and Steve Smith. Harvin has been a no-go for me for years now and eventually Steve Smith has to fall off of the age cliff….right?

What has happened to Larry Fitzgerald over the years has truly been one of the saddest football stories for me in years. I think back to how sad it was when Kurt Warner retired a bit early and left Fitzgerald basically without a QB for the past few years. Finally Carson Palmer came along last year and seemingly filled us with hope, only to wind up as upset as we were years prior. Then recently news broke where Fitz said he just wasn’t in a role that allowed him to rack up the fantasy stats anymore.

A few players other than Fitz I will look to avoid here are Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen and Marques Colston. I hardly trust either former Patriot back and with Colston he is about as wore and tore as they come and I believe the Saints have to regress this year as a whole sans Jimmy Graham.

Roddy White is actually a player that I will be looking to own at this area of drafts next year. I think if the reports have him healthy that White will be a bargain at this price tag. I know White is aging, but I believe that there is still gas left in the tank. If he shows out in preseason and ups his value I will be a seller and not a buyer on him.

A player on this part of the list I will likely stay away from next year is Victor Cruz. It seemed like Eli Manning had tunnel vision after the emergence of Odell Beckham Jr.

[table id=6 /]

Philip Rivers’ name has been tossed around in multiple trade scenarios and is likely to be on a new team when we start drafting our teams this season. For all intents and purposes he could be on a new team before the draft starts this weekend. Wherever Rivers is he has proven that he is a QB that is very worthy of being on your fantasy rosters.

I am not real interested in Doug Martin or Giovani Bernard here, but both could prove to be nice values if the starting backs in front of them go down.

Players 51-60

[table id=7 /]

Darren McFadden will be donning a new uniform for the first time in his NFL career and I am actually pretty excited about it. He is going to be running behind one of the best offensive lines in the entire NFL and the line that led DeMarco Murray to be one of the best fantasy backs in football last year. Run DMC stands to possibly have the best season of his career.

My no draft list will begin to shrink here but I am probably not real interested in owning Ben Roethlisberger at this price seeing as how his fantasy numbers tend to vary year in and year out.

Jan 10, 2015; Seattle, WA, USA; Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (1) carries the ball against the Seattle Seahawks in the 2014 NFC Divisional playoff football game at CenturyLink Field. The Seahawks defeated the Panthers 31-17. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Players 41-50

[table id=8 /]

Drafting Cam Newton may be a bit of a crap shoot this season. After finishing as a top five QB for his entire career last season he finished as th rated QB last year. I believe that has he been healthy Newton would have been able to squeak out another top five season, but at this price I am willing to gamble on the youngster to have a nice bounce back season.

On this list I am not a huge fan of Alfred Morris especially in PPR leagues. It is also tough to draft him not knowing what to expect from the QB position in Washington this year.

Next: Players 31-40

January 22, 2015; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Team Irvin tight end Jimmy Graham of the New Orleans Saints (80) and free safety Eric Weddle of the San Diego Chargers (32) during the 2015 Pro Bowl practice at Luke Air Force Base. Mandatory Credit: Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Players 31-40

[table id=9 /]

Jimmy Graham is one of many players who will be wearing some new threads. Most guys right now are down on Graham as he moves from a pass heavy offense to a run heavy offense. I can understand that to a degree, but regardless of the Seahawks past I hardly think that they traded for him to use him as a decoy. Graham is an absolute monster in the red zone and is impossible to ignore. Draft him here with confidence and if he falls consider it a bigger blessing.

I am probably staying away from Joique Bell here is I just don’t have a good feel for the Lions RBs at this point. On the other hand I do like Mike Evans here and hope he takes a big leap this year.

Next: Players 21-30

January 22, 2015; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Team Carter wide receiver A.J. Green of the Cincinnati Bengals (18) during the 2015 Pro Bowl practice at Luke Air Force Base. Mandatory Credit: Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Players 21-30

[table id=10 /]

A.J. Green is one of the better WR talents in the league right now and is probably the reason why Andy Dalton looks as good at QB as he does. He literally goes up and gets just about everything that Dalton puts up there. He is a fun player to watch and an even more fun player to own. Draft Green with confidence.

I am not sure that I would want Emmanuel Sanders at this price, although Peyton Manning always proves to us that he can spread the rock around.

Next: Players 11-20

January 22, 2015; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Team Carter quarterback Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts (12) during the 2015 Pro Bowl practice at Luke Air Force Base. Mandatory Credit: Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Players 11-20

[table id=11 /]

You may love or hate Andrew Luck’s beard, but it is hard to debate that he is a legitimate franchise NFL QB. It really looks like the Colts made the right call several years ago regardless of how hard it was to part ways with Peyton Manning. Luck is a superb QB and his game translates well to fantasy football. Luck usually gives us some bonus points as he has mastered the art of the QB sneak and adds in several rushing TDs every year.

From here on out there really is no one that I don’t want to draft or own on my teams next year.

Next: Players 1-10

Dec 28, 2014; Kansas City, MO, USA; Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles (25) runs the ball during the first half against the San Diego Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Players 1-10

[table id=12 /]

Jamaal Charles kind of became the de facto #1 overall pick with the three-game suspension of Le’Veon Bell. Bell will still be a first round pick for me and man other, but if I have the chance I will take any of the three guys ahead of Bell that I have listed here on the entire season.

Well I hope you enjoy this list and I will try to update it a few times before the season starts. Remember if you have any questions feel free to hit us up here at Fantasy CPR and make sure you roll with us for all of your fantasy sports needs.
