NFL Draft Rumors: Browns looking trade up to No. 5 spot
5. Kevin White, WR, West Virginia
It seems as if Kevin White is on the radar as a possible top-five pick and maybe the 1B of all receivers in this draft to Amari Cooper’s 1A. White is a deep threat and could fill the void at receiver that Josh Gordon seems to constantly leave behind with his suspension issues.
If there is any guy who could ease the transition at quarterback from Brian Hoyer to Johnny Manziel, it’s white. The former West Virginia wide receiver had a brilliant senior season in which he boosted his draft stock from possible first-rounder to likely top-10 selection. With speed to burn like White has, there may be no way the Browns could pass him up with this pick.
Running a 4.35 40-yard dash and standing 6-foot-3 is a coach’s wide receiver dream. A guy who can go up and grab a jump ball while also burning his guy down the field is something that he can do on the regular.
As a senior with the Mountaineers, White caught an incredible 109 passes for 1,447 yards and 10 touchdowns after just 35 catches for 507 yards and five scores the year before.
Could the Browns be looking at one of two wide out possibilities at this pick position?
