The Dallas Mavericks entered Game 5 against the Houston Rockets needing a win to remain alive in the postseason.
Well, a good sign for them from the game’s opening minutes: Tyson Chandler came to the play.
Chandler threw down a powerful dunk after a nice feed from J.J. Barea to give Dallas an 11-9 lead with just over eight minutes left in the first quarter.
Take a look at Chandler’s nice finish below:
That’s the type of dunk that’ll fire up your team and quiet the opposing crowd.
Chandler isn’t generally much of an offensive threat, but it sure is helpful for Dallas when he’s making plays like this.
Still, Chandler and the Mavs have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Houston is a tough team at home and has looked like the much better team for the majority of this series.
Chandler averaged 10 points (60.9 percent shooting from the floor), 12 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in the first four games of the series.
