The 2015 NFL Draft will be begin tomorrow in Chicago, Illinois. Before that, a local animal shelter is capitalizing on the huge sports event by holding their own furry draft event. The PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center is teaming up with Animal Planet & ASPCA to get new homes for some adorable all-stars.
Current and former NFL players will join the wagging tails as they introduce the newest prospects for Team Ruff and Fluff. Those that attend can meet the players and get their in-depth analysis on why the participants are just so gosh-darn cute.
Animal Planet will be supplying the adoption fees for MVP pets during the event. This option will only be available while they last so get your hands on their little paws quickly! The event is free and will be held from 4-9 PM ET. You can register for the event here.
While you’re waiting, you can get a look at the cuddly rosters. The players have such fitting names like Mutt Ditka and Joe Meow-tana.
Individuals that registers ahead of time will be entered to win an $100 gift card. The event in Chicago will be the first of many. Animal Planet will be holding similar adoption opportunities across the country. The Next Road to the Puppy Bowl Draft will be in Seattle on May 2nd, the last day of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Just like the Puppy Bowl, the events will do awesome things for animals in shelters. The Puppy Bowl has found homes for many pets and now it’s extending its effect to more than just one day per year. Animal Planet and ASPCA will be giving animals across the country the greatest gift of all, a new home.
These new pet owners will also reap the benefits. How sweet would it be to tell people about you new puppy named Mutt Ditka? Just think of all the wonderful puns you can make from that.
The NFL Draft will be held at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago on Thursday, April 30th.
