NFL Draft 2015: List of Carolina Panthers draft picks

Has there been a worse division winner than the 7-9 Carolina Panthers in 2014? The only one that comes to mind in the last decade is the 2010 Seattle Seahawks who won the NFC West and also knocked off a team with a better record in the Wild Card Game.

Perhaps the defense of such a statement is that the Seahawks were getting hot at the end of 2010 season, whereas the Panthers limped into the playoffs a season ago, only really winning the division because neither the New Orleans Saints or Atlanta Falcons could get out of their own way all season.

And yet somehow, the Panthers did what no other team had done in the history of NFC South division—that is win consecutive division titles. They did so without any semblance of dignity on the offensive line, where the five-man unit might as well have been made of elastic, and a wide receiver unit less impressive than those boasted by some college teams.

The Panthers, with their nine picks headed into Thursday, can be aggressive if they choose to acquire an upper-echelon receiver prospect, or double down on the position. And they could do the same with the offensive line, where they’ll likely try to find at least one or two 2015 starters.

With three fifth-round picks (including two compensatory picks), the Panthers could decide to look to those positions in the first two rounds, pick from among other perceived needs in rounds three and four, and then use those extra picks in the fifth to double down.
