NFL Draft results 2015: New York Giants take Ereck Flowers with No. 9 pick
With the ninth pick in the 2015 NFL Draft the New York Giants drafted Miami offensive tackle Ereck Flowers.
The New York Giants struck gold with last year’s first round pick when they took LSU receiver Odell Beckham at No. 12 and all he did was turn in a Pro Bowl season and made several highlight-reel catches along the way.

Picking in the top 10 after a disappointing 6-10 season that saw them miss the playoffs again and finish in third place in the NFC East, the Giants were in a position to add a player who could help get Tom Coughlin’s team back in the postseason conversation.
Ultimately, with the ninth pick the Giants took Miami left tackle Ereck Flowers to provide more protection for Eli Manning so he can connect with Beckham on some deep throws. Flowers is a 6-6, 329-pound tackle who can replace Will Beatty on the blind side and dramatically improves the team’s run blocking.
He’s a tenacious, nasty, punishing offensive lineman who is a bit raw today, which could lead to him beginning his career on the right side, but his upside is tremendous and that’s why he was the second offensive lineman taken in the draft.
Left tackle is the destination for Flowers, but if he has to start on the right side or even inside just as Justin Pugh did after he was a tackle at Syracuse, the Giants added a player who will be an instant fan favorite because of the toughness he brings to the line.
