With their pick in the second round on Friday, the New York Jets went for a serious deep threat with the selection of Ohio State wide receiver Devin Smith. As we saw last season, especially in the Buckeyes’ march to the national championship, Devin Smith is one of the best deep threats in this class. Now, he gets to play with Geno Smith in New York.
Well, if you haven’t figured it out by now, that’s where the problem is. As we all know by now, Smith is not really that highly regarded for his skills, mainly because he seems to love him some turnovers.
So, naturally, after the Jets selected Devin Smith, people were quick to point out the quarterback that he would be playing with…
No excuses for Geno Smith now, lol. RT @AdamSchefter: Jets thinking offense...thinking speed...taking Ohio St. WR Devin Smith.

Devin Smith is great deep-ball WR, but to be productive deep-ball WR, you need QB that can throw a deep ball. Lucky him, he gets Geno Smith.

I'm guessing Devin Smith will have a better Jets career than Geno Smith.

And for the winner…
Ohio State has three quarterbacks better than Geno Smith

Man, when are people gonna start being nice to Geno?
