With the St. Louis Rams selecting Todd Gurley in the first round, the New York Jets could be interested in trading for running back, Zac Stacy.

The St. Louis Rams made a surprising pick in the first round of the NFL draft as they selected Todd Gurley. In response, the New York Jets may want to snag the Rams current running back, Zac Stacey in a trade. Stacey had a solid 2013 performance rushing for almost 1,000 yards. This past year, he did slow down a bit. not even capping out at 300 yards for the season. But the Jets still think he is a viable back.

They will need some help too, after getting rid of Chris Johnson. Steven Ridley was signed by the Jets earlier this off season, so maybe Stacey will off set some carries for the veteran to share some of the load an NFL running back takes.

The Jets seem to be making a pretty big splash this off season as far as organizational changes goes. They fired Rex Ryan following the 2014 season. In one fell swoop they released Percy Harvin and added Darelle Revis. It appears that the Jets are really trying to reload and make a run at the playoffs in the near future. I don’t blame them either. They haven’t made the playoffs since 2010. And their young quarterback Geno Smith isn’t necessarily producing as much as people were expecting.

In 2015, things could look a little bit different than they have in years past. The addition of Zac Stacy would be one of the many transactions they have done in order to become a relevant and competitive team in the NFL again. It is sounding like things are starting to get exciting in New York for the upcoming year.
