Derrick Rose is in Top Form, Which is Good for Bulls

The Bulls most recent loss to the Cavaliers came when Derrick Rose was still recovering from a knee injury. Kyrie Irving took advantage of that as he popped off for 27 points and 4 assists. The Bulls did only lose by five, which is a positive thing considering Derrick Rose was out.

But when Rose is healthy and in top form, the Bulls have the Cavaliers’ number. We saw it briefly back in February where the Bulls could not be stopped on offense and created turnover after turnover from LeBron gaining their only win over the Cavs this year.

It seems that when Rose is out the Bulls just aren’t the same team. But when healthy and able, he is dominant and so are the Bulls.

Rose just changes the game. Not just in the box score, but the confidence he brings his team. You can see it in every players face when Rose is out there, they are more motivated to win. We saw it in the first three games of the Milwaukee series. Rose was flying. In game three he went off for 34 points and 8 assists. Rose’s performance inspired his teammates to follow suit. Dunleavy made 4-of-6 threes, Tony Snell came off the bench for 16 points, and Taj Gibson was two buckets away from a double-double.

When Rose faces the Cavs, if he can find his stride early, the rest of the team will find their game shortly after. Which means Cleveland is dead in the water. He has done so the majority of the time in the playoffs thus far, so there is no reason to think he won’t against the Cavs.

Cavaliers Response: Derrick Rose is a scary player, and that’s exactly why teams didn’t like seeing him get hot against the Milwaukee Bucks. We all want Rose back to being competitive, but the problem with that is, he might kill you. Thankfully, Kyrie Irving needs to use this series to launch himself into a new stratosphere of superstardom, which will motivate him to take his game to the next level. He may not dominate Rose, but keeping him contained will go a long way in this series. Read more reasons why Cavaliers will beat the Bulls here.
