Bartolo Colon swung out of his helmet again on Tuesday night, and he took things a step forward by smacking it with the bat
Alright, it’s official: Bartolo Colon in the batter’s box is the greatest thing that this world has ever bestowed upon us.
Tuesday night as the New York Mets were taking on the Baltimore Orioles, Colon came up for his turn to bat, as per usual. Well during this at-bat on Tuesday evening, we saw another usual sight which was Colon swinging the stick so hard that his helmet flew off.
Now, yes, this has happened before, but this time things went a little further.
Not only did Colon lose the helmet, but for good measure, he cracked it with the bat on his follow through.
This man…this man is a treasure. I know that this would in no way benefit the Mets, but maybe they should think about giving Colon some DH time when they visit American League parks, just so we can see him bat some more and potentially get treated to some gems like this.
Although, he’d have to try really, really hard to hit the helmet with the bat on the follow through again, but you know that you’d love to watch him try!
