The Los Angeles Clippers will once again be without Chris Paul in Game 2 against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.

After missing the first game in their second round series against the Houston Rockets, the Los Angeles Clippers will be without point guard Chris Paul. It was a brutal Game 7 win over the San Antonio Spurs which banged up Paul and forced him to miss the first game of this current series, and it’s now unclear just how long he’s going to be out.

The Los Angeles Clippers will once again be without Chris Paul, as he will miss Game 2 against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.

The loss of Paul is something that may not totally cripple the exhausted Clippers. Sure, they may have played in an epic Game 7 against the Spurs on Saturday and then won two days later on Monday night against the Rockets, but LA keeps on rolling.

They need a win in Game 2 to send the series back home and put themselves in a position to close out the Rockets in a sweep. That might not end up happening, but the fact that the Clippers were able to get a game up on the Rockets without Paul is a big win. It affords them an opportunity to again rest him on Wednesday night and it basically bought them an extra night of rest for Paul.

If the Clippers had lost Game 1, there’s little doubt that Chris Paul plays tonight. But he didn’t have to force himself back into action, and that’s why that Game 1 victory was as significant as it was.
