Fantasy Football: Top Five Rookie Wide Receivers For 2015
The NFL Draft concluded over the weekend, and there’s already plenty of excitement over the fantasy gold of the new rookie wide receivers. After the break-out performances of rookie wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr., Kelvin Benjamin, and Mike Evans, NFL executives and fantasy football players alike are looking for which rookies could possibly burst onto the scene this year. While there’s no certain way to choose who’s going to break out, opportunity is always a key factor to look for. Most of the receivers on this list have so much potential because of recently vacated veteran roles. While it’s nearly impossible to predict which receivers will break out in year one (they rarely have before the 2014 season), these five guys have the best chances at being a consistent fantasy superstar.

5. DeVante Parker, Miami Dolphins. This Louisville product could be the biggest playmaker on the Dolphins roster, although Jarvis Landry certainly showed

signs that he can take on a bigger role as well. But with Mike Wallace gone and Ryan Tannehill progressing, Parker will get chances to shine. He isn’t a sure thing like the guys lower on this list, but he is certainly worth considering towards the end of drafts.
4. Breshad Perriman, Baltimore Ravens. Torrey Smith had incredible games and is a good receiver, but he never lived up to the number one receiver billing the Ravens had hoped. Enter Perriman, a 6’2”, 212 pound speedster who can give Flacco exactly what he wants; someone to throw bombs to. Perriman will have the best deep thrower of all the rookie wide receivers. This could be the beginning of an incredible fantasy tandem. I suggest getting a piece of it.
3. Nelson Agholor, Philadelphia Eagles. There have been two common themes since Chip Kelly joined the Eagles: He has a high player turnover rate, but just as high of a player success rate. Jeremy Maclin departed, creating a competition for the targets between sophomore Jordan Matthews and first round pick Agholor. Agholor doesn’t have insane measurable, but he is praised for running concise routs and will fit well with the Eagles system. He’s a WR5 with upside in redraft leagues, and even more valuable in dynasty/keeper.
2. Amari Cooper, Oakland Raiders. Cooper has the potential to be the next Julio Jones, or better. He certainly has the highest ceiling and is the most ready to make it to the next level judging by his tape and abilities shown in college with Alabama. Sadly, he’s on the Raiders, and I can’t say that a Raiders player will be the best on any (positive) list. Derek Carr is promising, but Cooper still enters the season with the most questionable QB of the rookie wide receivers. The team just dropped James Jones, which is a plus, suggesting they’re serious about Cooper as the lead target, but I wouldn’t be drafting him higher than a WR4 or 5.

1. Kevin White, Chicago Bears. With a successful summer, White can slip right into the starting position vacated by Brandon Marshall. Kevin White had a stellar 2014 season with West Virginia (13.3 average and 10 TDs) and has plenty of potential to succeed on the next level. Jay Cutler is incredibly inconsistent, but he puts up fantasy points, and White is good enough to take advantage of these opportunities. This offense can support both Jeffery and White, and White is worth the gamble in any league format.

These guys aren’t worth even considering on draft day, but definitely keep their names on your watch list. They have the potential to surprise and become a top waiver priority sometime this coming season.
Stefon Diggs, Minnesota Vikings, a burner from Maryland who will join a crowded wide receiver corps.
Kenny Bell, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, could gain quick connection with fellow rookie QB Jameis Winston.
Darren Waller, Baltimore Ravens, a big, fast receiver who could also benefit from Flacco’s love of the deep ball.
