Nationals’ Stephen Strasburg leaves game vs Marlins with shoulder injury

Stephen Strasburg left the game with an apparent shoulder injury
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg left the game on Tuesday against the Miami Marlina following the third inning with what appears to be a shoulder injury.
Mark Zuckerman, of Comcast Sportsnet, who covers the Nats, released this tweet about Strasburg’s situation:
On May 5, 2014, the Nats were 18-14 and in first place in the NL East. After the sun sets on Cinco De Mayo 2015, the Nats find themselves 13-15, 4.5 games out of first place. If this injury to Strasburg is serious, it puts another wrinkle into a season that has been anything but smooth for the Nationals.
So far this season, Strasburg has not been the dominant force we have seen at times in his young, injury-riddled and pitch-count prone career. His April 19 start against the Philadelphia Phillies has been his only start where he pitched into the 7th inning. Retiring your first 14 batters will help you in that respect.
Maybe, the Nationals should consider jumping into the Cole Hamels chatter.
I’m one of those folks who didn’t fathom the reality of the Nationals ever being under .500 with a pitching staff where Mr. Strasburg is not the ace.
