Usually walk-off home runs lead to high-fives, Gatorade dumps, sunflower seed showers and if your teammate happens to be the O’s Adam Jones, pies in the face. What they usually don’t include is someone upending a trash can over your head. However, that’s exactly what happened to Mariners’ first basemen Logan Morrison after he hit a walk-off home run in the 11th inning of a Friday night game in Seattle.

Apparently Nelson Cruz does not enjoy any of the aforementioned celebrations, but would instead prefer to dump trash on the teammate doing awesome things. Morrison didn’t seem particularly fazed by the congratulatory trash, but to be fair, the contents of the trash can didn’t look overly horrible either. Mostly discarded drink cups, no old coffee grounds or fruit peels or anything like that.

Perhaps it will catch on and soon baseball players across the MLB will be upending trash cans on their unfortunate teammates. Hopefully no one will upend a trash can on a player with rage issues. You can’t imagine it would go over well on someone like Jared Weaver or David Ortiz, for example.
