Doug Weight. 15. player. 148. <p>Doug Weight was the No. 34 overall selection in the 1990 draft by the New York Rangers but was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in his second year after scoring 70 points in 118 games. During his time with the Oilers, Weight produced his six highest point totals, including a career-high 79 assists and 104 points during the 1995-1996 season.</p> <p>His finest all-around season came in 2000-2001 in what would be his last season in Edmonton when he had 25 goals, 65 assists and skated what was then a career-high plus-12. He finished sixth in the Hart voting that year and played in his third career All-Star Game.</p> <p>Weight was traded to the St. Louis Blues following that season and would be traded in January of his fourth season in St. Louis to the Carolina Hurricanes. He scored 13 points in 23 regular season games but really made a mark in the postseason when he scored 16 points in 23 postseason games to win the Stanley Cup for the expansion franchise.</p> <p>For his career, Weight’s 755 career assists rank fifth and his 1,033 career point rank seventh all-time among Americans.</p>.
