Mike Richter. 23. player. 95. <p>Mike Richter grew up outside Philadelphia in Flourtown, PA. before attending the University of Wisconsin where he developed into a star goaltender who would be drafted 28th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1985 NHL Draft. Richter would play his entire 14-year career with the Rangers, including the magical 1993-1994 season that saw them win the Stanley Cup.</p> <p>That year saw the Rangers trade John Vanbiesbrouck so Richter became the starter in net and posted a career-high 42 wins, 2.57 GAA and five shutouts. He was also the MVP of the All-Star Game and led the Rangers to the President’s Trophy.</p> <p>Richter helped lead the Rangers to the playoffs eight times during his career and five times finished in the top ten for Vezina Trophy voting. He retired with a 301-258-73 career record with a 2.89 GAA, .904 save percentage and 24 shutouts. His wins rank fourth all-time among American goalies and his 24 shutouts rank 10th.</p>. Goalie
