The Cavaliers vs. Bulls series got seriously real on Sunday afternoon, and Game 5 is something that basketball fans everywhere are looking ahead to.
The dagger that Derrick Rose thirst into the chest of the Cavaliers in Game 3 didn’t kill the Cleveland Cavaliers, but they’re bleeding out and they have to find a way to cauterize the wound and move on.
For all intents and purpose, Game 5 is a must-win, despite the series having no way of ending. The Cavaliers split with the Bulls in Chicago, and the series heads back to The Q tied 2-2, but Chicago still controls momentum which the Cavaliers need to steal back in front of their home crowd.
If the Cavaliers have to come back to Chicago down 3-2 in the series, then that could be the fading light moment right before the Bulls take them out for good.
You can’t totally blame the Cavaliers for their struggles though. Game 3 ended on a major fluke, as Rose hitting that shot is a one-in-a-million playoff moment.
In addition to that, injuries have ravaged the Cavaliers all series long.
Kyrie Irving is banged up, Iman Shumpert is hurt, LeBron James rolled his ankle and Kevin Love remains unavailable. Even without Pau Gasol, the Bulls stuck it to the Cavaliers hard and gave them a run late in the game. Cleveland by no means won Game 4 in convincing fashion, and they need to get a win in Game 5 or this series could be over before the week is out — with the Cavaliers on the wrong side of the series score.
