Chelsea fans applaud Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard as he walks off the field at Stamford Bridge for the final time.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has had a pretty stellar career, though he was never able to lead his boyhood club to a Premier League title. The 2014-15 season will be his last with Liverpool and in England however, he is set to begin the next chapter of his career in July when he join the Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer.
Gerrard announced the move and decision earlier this season and is on a farewell tour of sorts, though there is less fanfare than those of New York Yankees star Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter. No one is giving Gerrard crappy gifts before every game that he could care less about.
But there has been signs of respect towards Gerrard from his Premier League rivals, take this scene when Gerrard left the pitch after being substituted off at Stamford Bridge for the final time. The Chelsea fans rose to applaud Gerrard as he exited the game, and the Liverpool captain applauded the fans as well.

The respect was short lived though.
