Kenny Smith knocks down one-handed free throw in a suit (Video)
Kenny Smith hit a one-handed free throw in a suit to prove a point.
Kenny Smith and the Inside the NBA crew are not fans of the hacking strategy that has been running rampant in the second round series in the NBA Playoffs between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Houston Rockets. Smith took it upon himself on Sunday night at halftime of game four to prove a point.
After DeAndre Jordan had been hacked to the tune of setting an NBA record for free throw attempts in a half, Smith was fed up. That led to this happening on the set of the halftime show:
He probably does have a point; hitting a one-handed free throw off-center, over production equipment, and while wearing a suit is slightly more difficult than just shooting a free throw normally, even in an NBA game.
Though they sometimes get a bit too crazy and sometimes get a bit too into the “back in my day” kind of discussion, this is the type of thing that makes the TNT crew so valuable as media presences. They have the ability to not only make salient points, but also to back up those points by either presenting their body of work as a pro, or hitting a one-handed free throw.
