Dynasty League Rookie Mock Draft 5.0
Draft season is over, and we now know the destinations of the rookie prospects that we have been studying for the last few months. The landing spots of some of the skilled players in the draft created some value changes from a long-term fantasy perspective, and this rookie draft will give you a simulation to how the new homes of some of these rookies will affect their draft position in your rookie drafts.

1.1 Amari Cooper WR Oakland Raiders
Cooper is the number 1 player on my board. He’s the best wide receiver in this draft. He was very productive in college, and he is the only receiver in this draft that is pro ready. The odds of Cooper being a bust for your fantasy team are very slim.

1.2 Todd Gurley RB St. Louis Rams
Gurley is the best running back to come out in a long time. He’s a generational talent and he deserves to be drafted in the top-3 of rookie drafts. Gurley carries a little bit of risk due to his history of injuries, but he checks all the boxes, and he should be an asset to your fantasy team.
1.3 Kevin White WR Chicago Bears
White is the 2nd best wide receiver in this class, and he’s going to be the #2 wide receiver for the Bears, playing on the opposite side of Alshon Jeffery. White isn’t bust proof. He only had one year of college production, but he has the typical size and speed of #1 wide receiver, and he is dripping with top-5 wide receiver upside.
1.4 Melvin Gordon RB San Diego Chargers
Gordon fell to a great situation. He’s going to be the lead running back to an explosive offense. Gordon is going to produce this year, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he surpasses a 1,000 yards rushing this year.
1.5 DeVante Parker WR Miami Dolphins
Parker is going to be paired with Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill who is developing into a top-12 fantasy quarterback. Parker may not produce for your fantasy team during the first year, but he’s a very talented receiver that could be major asset to your fantasy team.
1.6 Breshad Perriman WR Baltimore Ravens
Perriman was drafted into the most optimal situation for his skill set. He is going to be paired with Ravens QB Joe Flacco who specializes in throwing the deep ball. Perriman has blazing speed and he’s going to be playing in Torrey Smith’s old role, where he’s going to specializing in taking the top off the defense and clearing the underneath routes for fellow wide receiver Steve Smith. Perriman should produce for your fantasy during his rookie season, and there’s a very good chance he could produce a stat line compared to Torrey Smith this year. Perriman isn’t a bust proof prospect, but he has top-5 wide receiver upside.
1.7 Dorial Green-Beckham WR Tennesee Titans
Green-Beckham is a very talented receiver with a troubled past that caused him to slip in the draft. DGB’s situation with the Titans isn’t the best, but he has too much raw talent to pass up on. DGB is a high bust risk, but he also has the talent to be the best wide receiver in the NFL.

1.8 Tevin Coleman RB Atlanta Falcons
Coleman went to a great situation. He’s going to be involved with an explosive offense and he isn’t going to be facing 8 men in the box. Coleman is going to be paired with Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, and that offense is going to be able to move the chains frequently, and give Coleman a lot of opportunities to succeed. Coleman is a fast 1-cut downhill runner who doesn’t dance in the backfield. Those traits match perfectly with the Atlanta Falcons offense, and I expect Coleman to be productive during his rookie season.
1.9 Nelson Agholor WR Philadelphia Eagles
Agholor is one of the best route runners in this draft, and he landed in the best situation for his skill set. Agholor is very comparable to Jeremy Maclin, and there’s a good chance that he will fill Maclin’s role in the offense and produce similar numbers. Agholor could be a steal this late in the first round of rookie drafts.
1.10 TJ Yeldon RB Jacksonville Jaguars
Yeldon was one of my favorite running backs. He’s a 3-down back that can run between the tackles and catch passes out of the backfield. Jacksonville is a horrible fit for him. I don’t see them moving the chains enough to give Yeldon the workload that would best utilize him. He’s also a back that has a nose for the end zone and he won’t have many opportunities for goal line work in Jacksonville. Yeldon is going to be a starting running back, and that a lone is valuable in fantasy.
1.11 Ameer Abdullah RB Detroit Lions
I wasn’t very high on Abdullah when I was evaluating him a few weeks ago, but he landed in the best situation for his skill set. He’s going to be utilized in the passing game in Detroit, and he should be a PPR monster.
1.12 Jameis Winston QB Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Winston is the first QB off the board for me. Compared to the receivers and running backs that are on the board currently Winston is the safest option and he is less likely to bust. Your guaranteed QB 2 fantasy numbers for the next couple years, and there’s a good chance that Winston develops into QB1 for fantasy.

2.1 Jalen Strong WR Houston Texans
Strong has the size and the speed to beat cornerbacks at the NFL level. He should be a solid end zone threat once he develops. He landed into a lackluster situation where his production might suffer until he gets a better quarterback.
2.2 Phillip Dorsett WR Indianapolis Colts
Dorsett was a surprise draft pick in the first round by the Colts. He’s a deep threat that’s very comparable to DeSean Jackson, and he might take over TY Hilton’s role if the Colts decide not to resign Hilton. Dorsett is paired with Andrew Luck one of the best quarterbacks in the game, and that is one of the main reasons you should invest in Dorsett.

2.3 David Johnson RB Arizona Cardinals
Johnson is a highly athletic running back, who is the best receiving running back in the class. He will battle Andre Ellington for carries, and there’s a good chance that he beats out Ellington to be the lead running back for the Arizona Cardinals.
2.4 Jay Ajayi RB Miami Dolphins
Ajayi is one of the most talented running backs in this class, but he fell in the draft due to a knee injury that he suffered in 2011 (torn ACL) that deteriorated a lot of the cartilage in his knee. Lamar Miller’s contract is up at the end of the season, and Miami’s running back position will be up for grabs. The Dolphins didn’t invest much draft capital in Ajayi, so he could be an easy cut for them if he doesn’t develop.
2.5 Duke Johnson RB Cleveland Browns
Johnson is an explosive pass catching running back that will be most effective in PPR leagues, but he will have a lot of competition in Cleveland for touches. The question with Johnson is, can he get enough volume with the offense to be fantasy relevant?
2.6 Devin Funchess WR Carolina Panthers
Funchess isn’t the most polished wide receiver, but he has the size to be a force in the end zone. If he can develop his game he could possibly be a match up nightmare, due to his size and athleticism.
2.7 Marcus Mariota QB Tennessee Titans
At this point in the draft all the draft picks are highly likely to bust, and Mariota is guaranteed to score fantasy points for your fantasy team. If your team is weak at QB, then Mariota might be able to help with his rushing yardage.
2.8 Maxx Williams TE Baltimore Ravens
Williams is the best tight end in the draft, and he landed in a situation where he could emerge as a top-12 fantasy tight end in a few years.
2.9 Chris Conley WR Kansas City Chiefs
Conley is oozing with athletic upside, but can he translate that athleticism to be a #1 receiver in the NFL? This late into the draft Conley is a home run swing. The odds are highly likely that most of the picks are going to bust this far in the rookie draft, so you might as well swing for the fences with a wide receiver that has a lot of upside.

2.10 David Cobb RB Tennessee Titans
Cobb is going to compete with Bishop Sankey for touches out of the backfield. Cobb is going to be the leading candidate for touches around the end zone, so he’s going to get a fair amount of touchdowns. Cobb was drafted in the 5th round, so the Titans didn’t invest much into Cobb, therefore there’s a chance that Cobb could be cut if he doesn’t prove himself during training camp.
2.11 Sammie Coates WR Pittsburgh Steelers
Coates is high athletic wide receiver who is very raw. He has an issue with drops, and he needs to improve his route running ability. Coates got drafted to a Steelers offense that has a lot of talented young wide receivers. The question is, can Coates develop his game and crack the starting lineup for the Steelers? Coates is a worth a draft selection at this juncture in the draft, because of his athletic ability, which creates some upside for Coates.
2.12 Javorius Buck Allen RB Baltimore Ravens
Allen was drafted into a really good situation in Baltimore, because quarterback Joe Flacco has a tendency to hit a lot of check down passes to his running backs. At USC Allen specialized at catching dump off passes and turning little dump off passes into long gains. Justin Forsett the incumbent starter at running back for the Ravens is an older back, and Allen is talented enough that he could possibly win the starting job or significant touches during training camp.
