Let’s gets started with the breakdown of today’s fantasy baseball starting pitchers:

3 Starting Pitcher Studs

1. Zack Greinke-Los Angeles Dodgers: Thanks to the weather in Colorado, Grienke misses Coors Field this time around instead getting the start tonight in pitcher-friendly Marlins Park instead.  Greinke is going for his sixth straight win as he takes the mound tonight for his seventh start of the season.  He has turned in a “quality start” every time out and has posted a very impressive 1.56 ERA.  He only allowed two hits against the Brewers in his last start, and he’ll look to keep rolling tonight in Miami.

2. Max Scherzer-Washington Nationals: Scherzer returns to Arizona where he began his MLB career tonight as the Nats head to the desert to battle the D-Backs.  Scherzer is coming off back-to-back ten strikeout games although his overall results in those games were a little mixed.  In his last start, he allowed ten hits and five runs in seven innings but managed to get the win after allowing just one run on five hits in seven innings in his previous start and taking the loss.  Tonight, he’ll look to return to the form he showed earlier this season when he allowed one run or fewer in four of his first five starts of the season.  Scherzer will make only his second start as a visitor at Chase Field tonight.

3. Shelby Miller-Atlanta Braves: Miller is coming off his best start of the season, a complete-game shutout against the Phillies in which he allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out eight.  On the season, Miller is now 4-1 with a 1.66 ERA.  He has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his six starts and has been able to pick up 31 strikeouts in 38 innings.  As he heads to Cincinnati tonight, he’ll look to avenge his one loss for the season, but even in that game he was solid striking out nine in seven innings allowing two earned runs on six hits. Even though the Reds beat him before, I think Miller should be lined up for another strong game tonight.
