NBA Playoffs, Wizards vs Hawks: John Wall ruled out for Game 4
By Jack Crosby
For the third game in a row, the Washington Wizards will be without the services of star point guard John Wall
The Washington Wizards have managed to take a 2-1 series lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal showdown with the best team from the regular season, the Atlanta Hawks. What’s been more amazing is the fact that they’ve been able to do this virtually without the services of injured stars John Wall, who suffered a wrist injury back in Game 1.
Well if the Wizards are hoping to take a commanding 3-1 lead over the Hawks on Monday night, they’ll have to do it without Wall again.
Per Wizards head coach Randy Wittman, Wall has been officially ruled out of Game 4 on Monday night.
This is not all that surprising news, yet notable nonetheless. Prior to their Game 3 win over the weekend, ESPN’s Chris Broussard mentioned that it’s more than likely that Wall will miss the entire series, as the team has their sights set on the next 10 years. However, you have to imagine that if this series somehow goes to seven games, this report on Wall might end up being a little different.
But, again, despite his absence, players on the Wizards have been stepping up, such as Otto Porter and the veteran Paul Pierce, who nailed in that game-winning bank shot in Game 3.
Can the Wizards get more help to take that 3-1 lead on Monday night without John Wall?
