Mike Francesa rips a Patriots fans who calls in to defend Tom Brady.

If you call into Francesa’s afternoon show on WFAN, you better come prepared.

Mike Francesa is the host of New York City’s most popular sports talk radio show and he didn’t get there being middle of the road. The guy has a lot of opinions, strong ones, that he will defend to the death. One of these aforementioned opinions is that Tom Brady is guilty in the Deflategate scandal.

Like most sports personalities around the country today, Francesa was debating the NFL’s punishment. While discussing the punishment handed to the Patriots (a 1st and 4th round draft pick in 2016 and a $1,000,000 fine) and Tom Brady (a four-game suspension to start the 2015 season), Francesa took a call from Steve in Maine. It did not go well for either side.

The subsequent video is a step-by-step instructional guide on how to anger Mike Francesa.

Step 1: Disagree with his main point.

Caller: “First of all, I want to say that Brady and the two guys are totally, totally innocent.”

Francesa: “Yeah, let me hear this one, this is good. Let me hear how they’re innocent.”

Step 2: Defend your point with stats.

Steve: “Mother Nature, over the last 100 years, every time there’s a football filled at 12.5, and it goes outside to a colder temperature…”

Francesa: “Stop, stop stop. Stop before you embarrass yourself.”

Step 3: Stick up for yourself

Steve: “I’ve taught math for 49 years, I know what I’m talking about.”

Francesa: “What you know is that you’re a fan who’s a fool.”

Steve: “You won’t let me tell you why it is. This isn’t the whole reason, let me tell you the rest.”

Step 4: Incorrectly answer the question Mike poses to you.

Francesa: “Did he take the balls and order the equipment guy to alter them?”

Steve: “No.”

Francesa: “No? What do you mean no? Steve, are you gonna tell me you looked at the evidence and you don’t think he had someone doctor the balls?”

Steve: “I looked at the evidence and Wells made a mistake on the evidence.”

Francesa: “I don’t want to hear this garbage. Give me an answer to the questions I asked you.”

Step 5: Get Francesa to hang up on you.

Francesa: “I don’t want your math equation. What are you nuts? I mean, go tell someone else then, please. I don’t want some math equation, I don’t care if you’re a math teacher. You’re a math teacher who’s a blind-eyed fan is what you are.”

Sure, Francesa did a lot of yelling but at least he didn’t fall asleep on the air again.

The real shame here is that Chris “Mad Dog” Russo wasn’t there to counteract Mike. If there is a bigger sports radio mistake than breaking up “Mike and the Mad Dog,” I’d like to hear it.

Sports talk radio callers: beware.

Everyone else: enjoy.
