The New York Knicks have about as many issues with their team as Carmelo Anthony has excuses for sitting out the second half of the 2014-15 season. No draft pick alone could fix all the problems that comes with this organization. But the one man who could come close is Jahlil Okafor.

Okafor is arguably the second most talented player in the draft this year behind Karl-Anthony Towns. It just so happens that the Knicks could use a solid big man. So it’s sounding like this is a match made in heaven.

Ever since Amare Stoudamire started having injury problems, Carmelo has missed that low post presence that Okafor could give the Knicks. We saw him dominate in the National title game against Wisconsin against one of the best centers in the NCAA in Frank Kaminsky. Although he was in foul trouble, when he played, Okafor was hard to stop. Typically in the NBA, coaches are able to help centers with fouling issues. So landing a spot on the New York Knicks could solve this problem for him.

I see Okafor going second overall to the Knicks. New York needs someone to pull them out of their rut. Jahlil Okafor might just be that guy.
