Finally we got some words from Chris Webber in regards to the Fab 5 documentary that was put out on ESPN

Out of all the “30 for 30” documentaries that have been shown on ESPN, the one about the Fab 5 Michigan basketball team of the early ’90s is regarded as one of the best. Even with all the praise, though, there’s still one glaring omission, and that’s the fact that Chris Webber was nowhere to be found throughout the entire thing.

There’s been a lot of speculation as to why Webber, the most notable player of the group, was not a part of it all. Theories range from issues with his conviction for lying to a grand jury to he and Jalen Rose just flat-out hating each other.

No matter what the theories, though, we’ve really never heard from Webber about it all.

Until Wednesday.

Webber appeared on the Dan Patrick Show and he did indeed address the Fab 5 project. It was here that he revealed that he did want to be a part of it, but they asked him when the shooting was just about complete. Basically, they had shot the entire thing without him and wanted him for just a few quotes.

You can hear Webber talk about it below.

One big takeaway from all this: Webber does not like Jalen Rose, nor the way that he portrayed himself in the documentary. He never called Jalen out by name, but for those of us that know the whole situation, it was pretty clear that’s who he was addressing.
