Paul Pierce may be playing in one of his last career postseasons, but the 37-year-old small forward for the Washington Wizards is still showing some fire. After an altercation in the third quarter of Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

The veteran forward has been solid for the Wizards during the playoffs, averaging 16.4 points and 4.1 rebounds — both higher than his season averages.

He has looked much younger in the playoffs and he has coupled with John Wall, combining for a surprisingly-effective duo that opponents weren’t expecting heading into to the NBA postseason. The Atlanta Hawks are dead-locked with the Wizards, 2-2, in the series thus far and it’s looking like an upset is very possible.

During the third quarter, however, Pierce and Carroll almost started a scuffle during the heated matchup and had to be restrained by referees and teammates.

This just goes to show that the 37-year-old former superstar still has some fight left in him and he’s not going down in these playoffs without a fight. Pierce wants to win another NBA title and this just proves how hungry he is for one.

Don’t count the Wizards out of the title race as they may be playing the No. 1 seed, but they’re holding their own thanks to guys like Wall and Pierce.

Good to see Pierce still has it.
