Rob Gronkowski doesn’t understand how Tom Brady’s suspension affects him

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski doesn’t understand how Tom Brady’s suspension affects his preparation.
The NFL world is still processing the fallout from the Deflategate scandal and the Wells Report, which resulted in a suspension for New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. He will miss the first four games of the NFL season for being “generally aware” of what was going on with the footballs.
While Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was on ESPN’s campus Wednesday for the Madden 16 cover reveal, he couldn’t escape questions about the Deflategate situation. At one point he came out and said how shocked he was to be getting so many questions since he is there to promote Madden, ala a frustrated Robert Downey Jr recently.
Later in the day he was hit with some more deflate gate questions though he seemed to handle it a lot better than he did earlier in the day. The one moment of frustration that came about from the latter interview was about his preparation for the season.
When asked about how his preparation would be affected knowing Brady won’t be under, he scoffed.
“It won’t be hard, it will be the same,” Gronkowski said. “I prepare the same every single year, I don’t see why my preparation would change.
“I got to go out there, I got to still make blocks, I still got to run routes. You guys act like the whole approach to football is going to change. It’s definitely a team game and everyone has to go out there and prepare how they gotta prepare to get ready for the game.
“Personally for myself, my preparation ain’t gonna change cause I gotta go out there and play the game, run routes at full speed and block at full speed.”
Admittedly he had just finished talking about focusing on himself and his preparation before hand.
