The Anahiem Ducks will host the Chicago Blackhawks in the first game of the Western Conference Finals.
The road to the Stanley Cup finals is winding down, with conference finals underway. The Anaheim Ducks and the Chicago Blackhawks open the Western Conference Finals on Sunday in Southern California.
It is an intriguing match up, with two very good teams playing one another. The Anaheim Ducks had the better season finishing with the highest point total in the Western Conference. The Chicago Blackhawks have had more success as of late, winning two Stanley Cups in the past six seasons.
The Ducks have lost just one game this post season, sweeping the Winnipeg Jets in the first round and defeating the Calgary Flames 4-1 in the second-round. The Blackhawks have almost been as dominant, defeating the Nashville Predators 4-2 in the first round and then sweeping the Minnesota Wild in the second round.
Both teams have had at least a week off between their last game and the first game of the Western Conference Finals so both teams will be well rested and healed up heading into Sunday’s game.
