Rusev was speaking in Bulgarian to John Cena in their match on Sunday night at Payback, but what exactly did he say?
Sunday night at WWE Payback John Cena and Rusev battled in an “I Quit” match, which saw the action taken all over the arena in Baltimore. The finish of the match came when Cena locked Rusev in the STF, at which point the Bulgarian started screaming in his language, which prompted Lana to get into the ring and tell the referee that Rusev was quitting.
But, since the ending of that match, everyone has been wondering whether or not Rusev actually quit? Most of us couldn’t understand what Rusev was saying, leading many to believe that the story will be that he didn’t actually quit and Lana translated him incorrectly.
Thankfully, though, we have the people of Reddit to come to the rescue with a translation.
Reddit user addictedsc2 was nice enough to give us a translation, and in the end, it looks as if Rusev did in fact quit the match.
"“Ahhh no…ahhh I give up! Next time we will crush you! I give up! Stop! I told you! I’ll crush you Cena! Damn your old mother, Cena! I will crush you! That’s enough, I told you.”"
Hopefully WWE sees this and doesn’t try to go with the story that Rusev didn’t quit and Lana screwed him, although they had to know that someone in this country that knows Bulgarian was going to translate what he said.
