Jays’ Josh Donaldson cussed out the Angels (Video)
By Mike Dyce
Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson had some choice expicit words for the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night.
Things got a little tense between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Angels. At the center of the tension and drama was Jays thirdbaseman Josh Donaldson.
In the sixth inning Donaldson thought some verbal jabs were coming his way from the Angels dug out and began jawing towards his opponents after he struck out. In the vide below, you can see him ask “who is it?”
He is then told it is Angels pitching coach Mike Butcher and then unloaded a string of expletives. You can read his lips very clearly, and certainly his gesturing helps you grasp what he is saying.
Watch it below:
Despite having a very foul mouth broadcast to the world, Donaldson said after the game he isn’t here to “bad mouth” anyone.
“I’m not here to try to bad mouth,” Donaldson said, via MLB.com. “People saw what happened. I played against these guys for a long time. They know the competitor that I am, and I think we just kind of got caught up in the heat of the moment.”
It’s a little late to take a non-potty mouth stance. It is also a pretty juvenile rant on his part, that sophmoric insult is the only thing he could think of in that situation?
Shows you the strength of his argument in this debate. Butcher said no one from the Angels started talking trash to Donaldson first.
“Nobody was talking him to him at first,” Butcher said. “Literally, I was just sitting there at first and he started cursing, yelling back. He went back to the dugout. I guess he was trying to get somebody’s attention [and] asked the coach next to him, ‘Who’s that?’ They told him who it was, and he said his profanities and made a classless gesture. I guess that’s just part of what he is.”
