Mark Davis has no interest in moving his team to St. Louis.

Stay west, young man.

Mark Davis, owner of the Oakland Raiders, wants to keep his team in the Bay Area, according to multiple reports. When asked about whether or not he would prefer St. Louis as a potential future home for the Raiders, Davis denounced the reports, claiming they were false.

Curiously enough, the reports of Davis’ disinterest in moving the team came out nearly simultaneously as one from Albert Breer of the NFL Network. Breer reported that there is growing confidence that the NFL will be back in Los Angeles by 2016, just one season from now.

The fact that the NFL wants a team back in L.A., the country’s second-largest city, is the world’s worst-kept secret. What is less apparent, however, is which team will be the one to relocate. The league has no plans to put an expansion team there so one team has to go. According to a source, the league is “confident there [will] be multiple options” as far as relocation is concerned.

Those options include the Hollywood Park project in Inglewood, California, led by the Rams owner, and the Carson, California project, spurred by a Raiders/Chargers partnership. Updates from the Rams, Raiders and Chargers, on both the progress of the projects as well as the thoughts of their home markets, are to be discussed at the owners spring meeting in San Francisco.

Reports are that, while St. Louis and San Diego are making progress on their future hometown stadiums, Oakland has made little progress since March.

Maybe Davis hates fried ravioli, or “St. Louis style pizza,” which is essentially cardboard with tomato sauce. Regardless, if he truly prefers to stay in Oakland, he will have to make some decisions – and quickly. Otherwise, he will risk losing the support of his city.
