The Rockets vs. Warriors series is already more fun than we though it might be, and that has us all salivating for Game 2 later this week.

We are just one game into the Western Conference Finals, and already the Rockets vs. Warriors series is looking like it will be a nail biter the whole way through. Right now, the Dubs are up 1-0 in the series, but it’s really hard to say the Rockets lost Game 1 after the way they hustled back to nearly win.

Houston trimmed the Golden State lead to just two with under a minute left in the game — and they did it without Dwight Howard and without allowing an emotional hangover to linger from their series against the Clippers.

In the end, they didn’t win the game, but the Rockets can’t hang their heads too low. Sure, they’re 0-5 against the Dubs so far this season but they nearly won’t Game 1 — and let’s not forget how they mailed in the first game of their series against the Clippers.

It was a visually pleasing game in more than one way for basketball fans everywhere.

Beofre halftime, Steph Curry decided to throw down big and ht a buzzer beater that amped up the crowd inside the Oracle in a way that fired up the Warriors.

With the score tight late into the game though, things got testy — which confirms this is going to turn into a physical series very quickly.

A lot of that had to do with the Rockets missing Dwight Howard, who would have turned a play like this into points.

Still, the Rockets hung in there and were able to bring things within two in the fourth quarter on a Trevor Ariza three-pointer off a turnover.

Golden State couldn’t hold and let the Rockets back into the game, which means this could be a back and forth series.

Lest we forget that the Rockets came back against the Clippers in the series last week and need up i the Conference Finals as a result. That doesn’t mean the Rockets will come back in this series, but they’re off to a great start in Game 1, and that’s encouraging for not just Houston but the quality of this series.
