Steph Curry was not happy the Rockets trolled him before Game 1 (Video)

The Houston Rockets started playing head games with Steph Curry before Game 1, and it seemed to work right off the bat.

When the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors wound up in the Conference Finals together, it was a meeting of the top two players in the NBA. One of them is an MVP and the other is on an team that didn’t look like they’d make it this far but are pressing hard towards an NBA Finals appearance.

Steph Curry and James Harden are going to dominate this series, but that doesn’t mean they have to get along.

Rather than send out James Harden to shake hands with Steph Curry before Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals — as is customary — Houston sent out Nick Johnson.

Needless to say, Steph Curry was displeased.

James Harden lost the MVP race to Steph Curry this season and both players combined to be two of the best players on the planet this year.

Nick Johnson was a second round pick from Arizona who almost didn’t make an NBA roster this season. That’s who the Rockets sent out for the captains handshake and Curry was not happy about it. But does it really matter in the long run of things?

It’s not like this is the only game these two teams are going to play against one another and it’s not the last time Steph Curry will ever see James Harden. Was it disrespectful — yes because it’s supposed to be.

Steph Curry being butt-hurt right off the bat about a player not shaking his hand is the ultimate mind game and he’s playing right into the Rockets hands. Then again, it might be a moment that motivates Curry to bury the Rockets and teach them some manners.
