Jamie Foxx drops a killer Doc Rivers impersonation on The Tonight Show (Video)
During the infamous Wheel of Musical Impressions skit on The Tonight Show, Jamie Foxx dropped a spot-on impersonation of Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers.
The Tonight Show has made name for itself in generating some quality entertainment with its new Impression Generator skit. From Christina Aguilera nailing Britney Spears to Kevin Spacey invoking the spirit of Johnny Carson, a lot of laughs have been had.
On Tuesday night, those laughs continued with special guest Jamie Foxx.
In the case of Foxx, who won the Oscar in 2005 for playing Ray Charles in the bio-pic Ray, host Jimmy Fallon rolled out the Wheel of Musical Impressions version of the Impression Generator. With Foxx’s excellent singing voice and swagger, his first two spins took the viewers through excellent interpretations of Mick Jagger singing Hakuna Matata from the Lion King and then John Legend singing the Toys ‘R Us jingle.
However, Foxx saved his best for last, when he randomly threw out an impression of Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers. You can see just how spot-on Foxx nails Rivers by skipping to the 5:40 mark on the following video:
Rivers is famous for having next to no voice to speak with after games, and Foxx makes sure to pay homage to that, even noting that “Doc Rivers has been hoarse since birth.” Foxx even goes on to roast Rivers a bit, saying that he’s got the best answers during pressers and is always calm, no matter the outcome of the game he just left.
So you tell me folks, does Foxx nail Rivers or what? Based on his press conference after the Game Six collapse, I think Foxx has pretty much by the books.
