Chicago Blackhawks forward Jonathan Toews got jabbed hard in the face courtesy of a high-stick by Anaheim Ducks right winger Jakob Silfverberg.

Jonathan Toews might need to make a trip to the dentist soon.

More from Anaheim Ducks

Actually, forget that, he’s a hockey player and one of the toughest guys alive on the planet.

Against the Anaheim Ducks in Game 3 at home, Toews appeared to have had some of his teeth and his jaw readjusted on the ice.

As he was skating up the ice, he took an illegal high-stick right to the side of the face.

He could probably use a massage too as his head snapped back from the force of the stick.

A double minor high-sticking penalty was immediately assessed to Ducks forward Jakob Silfverberg on the play.

Hockey is a brutal sport with bone-chilling hits and players smacking the ice hard at several miles per hour. However, stabbing an opposing player with a stick is highly illegal and one that could get you tossed out of games.

Fortunately, the play looked accidental and could have been a lot far worse than what it could have been, but momentarily Toews was getting poked and prodded like someone having a root canal.

Check those teeth Jonathan.
