TNA Wrestling denies Destination America cancellation rumors

TNA Wrestling has started speaking about the recent rumors that Destination America has cancelled Impact Wrestling
Wednesday night the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer dropped the somewhat bombshell report that Destination America was putting the stops to TNA Impact Wrestling. According to the report, the weekly wrestling show would be off the air by September.
Well, it didn’t take too long for members of the company to issue a response.
First, TNA released this brief statement to PWInsider, denying the rumors have any validity to them.
"It has come to our attention that several internet news sources have falsely attributed statements to TNA, its executives and broadcasting partner. These false statements constitute defamation and if necessary we will seek all legal remedies available to us."
Then, to take things a step further, the newest member of the creative team in TNA, Smashing Pumpkins star Billy Corgan, made his feelings known about it all on Twitter.
For Corgan’s and TNA’s sake, they had better hope that Meltzer is reporting something false, which is a pretty big long shot. While he has been wrong before on some things, it’s hard to believe that Dave Meltzer would drop a report about Impact Wrestling getting cut by their television partner without their being some truth to it. He knows which lines not to cross.
Plus, we all have to remember back to last year when WrestleZone.com dropped the exclusive report that Spike TV was cutting their ties with TNA. When that report dropped, TNA came out and denied that as well, and as we would come to find out, it was true and the two sides parted ways.
