Tom Brady aided by the supernatural amidst NFL appeal

Death is no match for woman’s support of Tom Brady amidst Deflategate scandal
The football world has been left reeling the last few weeks amidst the findings of the Wells Report, which concluded it was “more probable than not that Tom Brady was at least generally aware” that Patriots staff deflated footballs before the AFC Championship Game.
Most people no longer doubt that Brady had a role in the technical cheating that took place during the game. Even former Deflategate deniers have recanted, like Robert Kraft, the owner of the Patriots, who recently decided to accept the rather stiff punishments levied by the NFL. While Brady has filed an appeal with the league, many have moved on, analyzing instead how the Patriots will fare with second-year quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
If you’re Tom Brady you have to feel at least a little lonely, as few people are standing behind him while he proclaims his innocence. However, a new camp has “risen” up and announced their support for Brady: the spirit world.
Patricia M. Shong, 72, a Massachusetts native, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015. Her obituary declared her to be a loving mother, wife, and included this line: “She would also like us to set the record straight for her: Brady is innocent!”
What does Brady’s new immortal ally mean for the upcoming appeal with the NFL? Like all instances of the supernatural, the future can be hard to predict. Roger Goodell might have to sacrifice a live chicken in order to perform a sacred Santeria ritual, designed to ward off diehard spirits. But the specter of Shong may be too strong to dismiss so easily. Brady has been known to utilize his unique connection to the world of the dead, especially evident when one examines his many clutch moments in retrospect.
Ghosts and poltergeists may be Brady’s only friends left in the wake of Deflategate, and his only chance to win any appeal with the NFL. Furthermore, who knows what kind of precedence this may leave other teams and players seeking to gain an edge on the competition. The NFL should less concerned with football deflation and more concerned with the influx of paranormal phenomenon.
