Vikings’ Adrian Peterson skipping OTAs
By Mike Dyce
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is skipping team OTAs.
The standoff between the Minnesota Vikings and running back Adrian Peterson is on going. Peterson reportedly wants a trade and the Vikings are content to hold on to him and have him play during the 2015 season.
While that looks like where Peterson and the Vikings are headed, Peterson isn’t giving in just yet. He won’t be reporting to the Vikings’ OTAs on Tuesday and could forfeit a quarter of a million dollars in the process.
That is a hefty price tag for a day off, especially for a player who missed most of last season because of a because of a child-abuse incident. It is worth noting that Peterson participated in OTAs and minicamp last year, but has yet to participate this year. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport confirmed the report and noted that it could change next week.
The Vikings can fine Peterson up to $72,920 for missing minicamp on top of the $250,000 workout bonus.
That’s a lot of money.
