Braves 2B Jace Peterson snags pop-up in right field (Video)
Atlanta Braves second baseman Jace Peterson came up with an insane catch in shallow right field.
The Atlanta Braves were tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers early in the game, meaning that one break for either team could shift the momentum one way or another.
Braves second baseman Jace Peterson wasn’t about to let the Dodgers get the momentum. On a pop-fly to shallow right field, Peterson hustled tremendously and snagged a catch that looks like it may have been closer for the right fielder to grab:
If Peterson was yelling “I got it” when that one was hit, I’m not sure any of his teammates actually believed him until he came up off the ground with the ball trapped comfortably in the leather.
This is shaping up to be Peterson’s first full season in the big leagues after coming up sparingly last season out of the minors.
If he can show off that kind of speed, range, and glove at second base, there are two things we can assume. First, he and Andrelton Simmons make for a killer middle-infield defensively for Atlanta. Also, they could have Bartolo Colon playing right field and they might still be alright if Peterson is at second.
