Houston Rockets lead by 23 points after 1 quarter, 45-22
By Mike Dyce
The Houston Rockets scored 45 points in the first quarter to take a 23 point lead against the Golden State Warriors.
The Houston Rockets are trying to win Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals and avoid a sweep at the hands of the Golden State Warriors. They got off to a great start, scoring 45 points in the first quarter of the game to take a huge 23 point lead.
It was a record quarter of scoring for the Rockets, tying the record for most points by a playoff team in a quarter in the shot-clock era. A feat that was done 30 years ago by the 1985 Los Angeles Lakers.
Which puts the Rockets on a ridiculous pace.
But they shouldn’t get too comfortable, the Warriors have proven before that they can come back from big first quarter deficits before.
