Kris Bryant matches Bryce Harper with home run still traveling (Video)

Kris Bryant matched his childhood teammate with a home run, this one a ball which may have gone down as the longest home run at Wrigley Field if not for the new scoreboard
Being the first time Vegas natives Bryce Harper and Kris Bryant have met each other in the majors, the current Washington Nationals–Chicago Cubs series is one to watch for all baseball fans. Those two, and their coinciding gargantuan power, are a big reason.
Harper hit his league-leading 17th home run in the top of the seventh, on a ball he thought he popped up but just kept carrying. The rookie Bryant hit one in the bottom of the eighth which left zero doubt. In fact, if not for the brand new video board in left field, it may still be flying through Chicago’s windy night sky.
Bryant’s home run, his second in as many days, and his seventh on the season, re-tied the score at two runs apiece. But it was the towering nature of the shot which had Cubs and all baseball fans most impressed.
Bruce Levine gave some idea of just how far Bryant hit it.
No doubt, Harper’s home run was aided by the wind. Bryant’s was too, though it would have gone out of any park on any day.
Also of note, the two lead baseball in home runs since Bryant finally notched his first at the big league level on May 9.
For Cubs fans, it has been a joy not only to see Bryant add his much ballyhooed power in May, but also to see mostly outstanding plate discipline and exemplary defense.
