Broncos LT Ryan Clady tears ACL, out for 2015 season
By Jack Crosby
The Denver Broncos were dealt a crushing blow with the news that Pro Bowl tackle Ryan Clady is out for the season with a torn ACL
Denver Broncos Pro Bowl left tackle Ryan Clady will miss the entire 2015 NFL season after suffering a torn ACL during workouts on Wednesday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report the devastating news.
Clady started all 16 games for the Broncos last season, as the team made a run to the AFC Playoffs, where they were eventually ousted by the Indianapolis Colts in the Divisional Round.
Drafted with the No. 12 overall pick in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of Boise State, Clady has spent his entire eight-year career with the Broncos. He’s started every game since his rookie season in 2008, except for 2013 where he missed 14 games due to a Lisfranc injury.
As much as this is a blow to a team in the Broncos who are expected to make another run at the AFC Playoffs, it’s an even bigger blow to quarterback Peyton Manning. No quarterback wants to lose their left tackle, and with his career winding down, Manning needs all hands on deck if he wants to catch one more Super Bowl ring before he hangs up the cleats for good. Losing Clady puts a serious damper on those chances now.
The Broncos finished last season 12-5 and finished first in the AFC West.
