‘TRIGGER MORTIS’ novel coming in September
Walking in Ian Fleming´s footsteps has never been easy for any writer and yet, Bond continuation novels are highly regarded by most fans of the fictional hero James Bond. This year, Anthony Horowitz will deliver his take on 007 with ‘TRIGGER MORTIS’ – a new Bond thriller with original material from Ian Fleming!

The plot of ‘TRIGGER MORTIS’ is unfolding during the infamous space race between the Soviet Union and the United States in 1957 and sets in two weeks after the events of the Goldfinger novel by Ian Fleming. And novelist Horowitz has a special surprise in store for fans of the literary 007: the return of Pussy Galore!
With ‘TRIGGER MORTIS’, Horowitz is trying to achieve something that none of the previous continuation novelists have done so far: draw strength from unpublished Fleming material that he wrote for a television series “Murder on Wheels”. Together with the use of an original Bond Girl creation, Horowitz throws Bond into a thrilling storyline that could have been penned by Fleming himself. The novel begins with Bond taking part in a Formula One race on the world-famous Nürburgring racetrack in Germany. The villain of the book was described by Ian Fleming´s niece Lucy as an absolutely horrible but fascinating megalomaniac type.
The announcement of the new and authorised 007 novel came on May 28 when Anthony Horowitz unveiled title and plot outline. The date could not be more fitting as it would have been Ian Fleming´s 107th birthday. Horowitz is an expert in mystery and suspense and has delivered several screenplays for the television series “Agatha Christies Poirot” and “Midsomer Murders”.

‘TRIGGER MORTIS’ is definitely a highly anticipated book that resurrects the classic elements of James Bond and it almost ties in perfectly with the release of the new James Bond film ‘SPECTRE’ in November. The scheduled release date is September 8, so fans have two months to pass the time until their hero will once again explode onto cinema screens across the globe.
