Tonight starts another big weekend of Major League Baseball as the second month of the season wraps up with a few featured series which should provide some great drama in the next few days.  The schedule includes some nice divisional matchups as well as a potential playoff preview as the Dodgers visit St. Louis to take on the Cardinals.  With all the teams in the league back in action, fantasy baseball action will also be back to full speed today. To help you get your team together, check out my starting pitcher rankings on the following slides.

[fanduel sport=”mlb” type=”ad”]

Each day, I rank every starting pitcher in the general order of their fantasy value to help you decide who to start, who to sit, and who represents good value in daily fantasy baseball.  If you are looking to get into the daily fantasy baseball game, check out FanDuel by clicking the box to the right.  Especially in that format with only a single starting pitcher, getting the right ace can make all the difference.

To help you find that perfect fit, the rankings on the following slides are divided into stay-away options, high-risk options, sleeper options, solid starters, and star options. Each starter has a brief analysis included for more details and format-specific advice.

If you have specific questions for your league or your team, you can ask it in the comments at the bottom of the page or for an even quicker answer shout it out on Twitter where you can find me @FansidedFantasy throughout the day.

Hopefully the rankings are helpful to you, and if you agree or disagree feel free to sound off on Twitter or in the comments.  You can find also find all our ongoing coverage (including today’s batter vs pitcher analysis) on our fantasy baseball hub where we’ll be posting new analysis all season long.

Scroll through the following slides for a look at every single one of today’s probable pitchers in these starting pitching rankings.

Stay-away Options

Capuano makes his third start tonight for the Yankees.  In his previous two outings, he has only totaled 7.1 innings while allowing 12 hits and seven runs. He has allowed opponents to hit .343 against him with a WHIP approaching 2.00. He’ll need to turn it around quickly if he wants to hold his spot in the rotation, but don’t bank your fantasy night on that happening especially as he matches up against A’s ace Sonny Gray.. New York Yankees. @ Athletics. Chris Capuano. 30. player. 43

Taijuan Walker. 29. player. 62. Walker has only one quality start in his last five outings while struggling to a 0-3 month with a 7.71 ERA. Walker has a ton of potential, but he doesn’t look quite ready to realize it tonight against Cleveland.. Seattle Mariners. vs Indians

Minnesota Twins. vs Blue Jays. Trevor May. 26. player. 2. May struck out a season-high nine in his last start while holding the White Sox to three runs on six hits in seven innings to even his record at 3-3.  He got his ERA under 5.00 with that outing, but he still is allowing hitters to hit .292 against him this season, and there are options with more upside today as the potent Blue Jays lineup rolls into Target Field.

25. player. 90. Strasburg continues to struggle this season after allowing six runs on seven hits to the Phillies in his last outing and only making it 3.2 innings  He has only pitched five full innings once in his last four starts while getting  let up with a 10.20 ERA and a 1-3 record  He takes on the Reds tonight, and as much potential as he has I don’t think he’s startable at this point.. Washington Nationals. @ Reds. Stephen Strasburg

24. player. 63. While he hasn’t gotten quite as much publicity as Strasburg, Sanchez is another former fantasy stud who has fallen on hard times.  He has allowed seven earned runs in each of his last two starts to watch his ERA swell to 6.12 on the season.  He has shown some signs of breaking through, but I’d still stay away from him especially in this start on the road against the Angels.. Detroit Tigers. @ Angels. Anibal Sanchez
