Daily Fantasy Baseball: DraftKings Pitcher and Hitter Picks for June 1st
There are 11 games in the evening slate on DraftKings starting at 7: 05 p.m. and 5 games in the LATE only contests starting at 9:40 p.m. Below are my best selections for lineups in the June 1 contests.
These selections are tailored toward DraftKings scoring system but these picks can also be helpful in H2H formats with daily rosters where some of my recommended players may be available to pick up off the Waiver Wire. Also, a majority of these selections would also be recommended for FanDuel, but you should first understand the differences of the two site’s baseball scoring systems before plugging players in both.
Pitchers
Felix Hernandez (SEA) home vs. TEX for $11600: King Felix has been scintillating in 2015 and putting numbers worthy of another Cy Young award: 8-1, 1.91 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, and 71 Ks 70 2/3 in 2015. He is averaging 27.3 FPPG and is coming off an incredible 41.7 FP complete game shutout effort vs. TB in which he only threw 101 pitches. Felix is 9-5 with a 2.87 ERA in 17 career games vs. the Yankees and pitches at home in Safeco Field where the Mariners are a -155 favorite. The Yankees are 1-3 on their current home stand a have scored only 11 runs in 4 games. Ignore the large price tag – Hernandez is a must play tonight.

Garrett Richards (LAA) home vs. TB for $9,500: Richards is having a fine year with a 4-3 record and a 3.12 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. He hasn’t put up great strikeout numbers (43 K in 52 IP) but faces a Rays squad with are 5th in the majors in strikeouts. The Angles are red hot, coming off a sweep of the Tigers are a -160 home favorite tonight. At only the 5th highest salary there’s value gained from the talented Richards who could put up top SP numbers.
Hitters
1B Paul Goldschmidt (NYY) home vs. ATL (Alex Wood) for $5,300: Goldschmidt is on an absolute tear going 9 for 14 with 3 HRs in his last 3 games and hitting .480 in his last 7. The RH slugger is at Chase Field facing Braves lefty Alex Wood against whom he hit a homer and went 2 for 2 against in his only career appearance.

Around the Foghorn
3B/1B Ryan Zimmerman (WAS) home vs. TOR (R. A. Dickey) for $4,100: Although Zimmerman (.228, 5 HRs) has put up modest numbers (6.8 FPPG) in 2015 he has a great matchup against the knuckleballer Dickey (5.77 ERA) who has given up 14 runs and 23 hits in his last 19 IP. Zimmerman has a career .310 avg. vs. Dickey in 29 ABs.
SS Jhonny Peralta (STL) home vs. MIL (Fiers) for $4,200: Peralta (.310, 8 HRs, 30 RBIs) is having a great year at the plate and is 9 for 23 with 2 HR, 8 RBI, and 3 BB in his last 7 games. He is also 6 for 11 with a HR in his career vs. Fiers.

Call to the Pen
OF Gregory Polanco (PIT) at SF (Vogelsong) for $4000: The Pirate outfielder has been on fire going 8 for 20 with 2 HRs and a SB in his last 5 games. The speedy Polanco (13 SBs – 5th in ML) has a favorable L/R matchup tonight and could get you some points on the base paths in what could be a low scoring game at AT&T Park.
