Major League Baseball rolls into the third month of the season and a brand new week with 11 games on the schedule for tonight.  With eight teams taking the day off, there are still some great options to choose from in today’s slightly shallower fantasy baseball pool.  To help you get the right starting pitcher on the mound, check out these starting pitcher rankings for this Monday, June 1.

Whether you’re playing in a season-long league or a daily fantasy baseball league, starting pitcher is a crucial category to get right.  As we start this week, there are still some nice potential two-start options if you are looking for a pickup in a league with a weekly roster lock.  However, there are also some solid options for daily league play or as a short-term streaming option. For all the breakdown and analysis of all 22 probable pitchers, scroll through the following slideshow.

We always welcome your feedback on the bottom of the page in the comments or by following  @FansidedFantasy on Twitter.  You can find all our ongoing coverage  on our fantasy baseball hub where we’ll be posting new rankings all week long as well as the best batter vs pitcher matchups to target for each day (today’s top 10 here).

If you are interested in checking out a daily fantasy baseball game, you can get started by clicking the box above for a link to FanDuel which is one of many sites that offer daily fantasy baseball.   Especially in FanDuel’s format with only a single starting pitcher, getting the right ace can make all the difference.

I’ve divided today’s options in to stay-away options, high-risk options, sleeper options, solid starter options, and star options.  To get a look at what I think of each of today’s 22 probable pitchers, let’s jump right into today’s starting pitcher rankings.

Stay-away Options

Miami Marlins. vs Cubs. Jose Urena. 22. player. 82. Urena was knocked around in his first MLB start last week in Pittsburgh allowing ten hits and five runs in just 4.2 innings.  Urena has long-term potential, but until he shows he is ready to produce on the MLB level, I’d stay away.

76. Fiers has failed to complete the sixth inning in eight of his ten starts this year. He has allowed exactly two earned runs in each of his last four outings, but unless he goes deeper into the game it’s hard to invest in him heavily especially in a tough matchup in St. Louis today.. Milwaukee Brewers. @ Cardinals. Mike Fiers. 21. player

Kyle Kendrick. 20. player. 108. Kendrick was much better in May (1-3, 4.68 ERA) than in April (1-3, 8.36 ERA), but he still doesn’t inspire much confidence as he faces the Dodgers for the third time this season. In those first two starts against the Dodgers he went 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA, and he also has struggled at home going 0-2 with a 7.85 ERA. There are better options for today than Kendrick.. Colorado Rockies. vs Dodgers

Brett Oberholtzer. 19. player. 135. Oberholtzer comes off the DL to replace Scott Feldman in the Houston rotation.  He has some solid potential as he showed last season, but I’d let him get at least a start or two under his belt before jumping on the Oberholtzer bandwagon this season.. Houston Astros. vs Orioles

Bradley has a world of potential but he has struggled since taking a line drive to the head earlier this season.  He has allowed 14 runs in 10.2 innings over his last three starts, so I’d avoid him until he gets things headed the right direction again.. Arizona Diamondbacks. vs Braves. Archie Bradley. 18. player. 8
