It’s a jam-packed Wednesday of baseball today with 16 games on the MLB schedule thanks to a double-header in Boston after a Twins-Red Sox rainout on Monday.  In total, 32 starting pitchers will take the mound today giving us plenty of options for our fantasy baseball teams.  As you put together your plan for today, check out my starting pitcher rankings for analysis and ranking of every scheduled starter for today.

Whatever format you decide to play today, starting pitcher is a crucial position to get right.  If you are playing in a  season-long league there are some nice streaming starter options for today as well as some good value to be had in daily format.

If you are interested in checking out a daily fantasy baseball game, you can get started by clicking the box above for a link to FanDuel which is one of many sites that offer daily fantasy baseball.   Especially in FanDuel’s format with only a single starting pitcher, getting the right starter at the right price can make all the difference.

We always welcome your feedback on the bottom of the page in the comments or by following  @FansidedFantasy on Twitter.  You can find all our ongoing coverage  on our fantasy baseball hub where we’ll be posting new rankings all week long as well as the best batter vs pitcher matchups to target for each day (today’s top 10 here).

I’ve divided today’s options in to stay-away options, high-risk options, sleeper options, solid starter options, and star options.  To get a look at what I think of each of today’s 32 probable pitchers and a key fantasy-relevant stat for each scroll through the following slideshow.

Stay-away Options

90. Jordan has made just one appearance this season for the Nationals taking the loss in relief of Stephen Strasburg last Friday.  He’ll get his first start of the season, and it’s hard to expect too much of him taking on a tough Blue Jays lineup today. There are much better options available.. Washington Nationals. vs Blue Jays. Taylor Jordan. 32. player

Leake is usually one of my sleeper specials, but his last three starts have been horrible. He has allowed a total of 20 runs in those outings lasting just 14 innings and allowing 27 hits.  Until he turns things around, go a different direction than Leake.. Cincinnati Reds. @ Phillies. Mike Leake. 31. player. 61

player. 2. May has allowed three or more runs in each of his last four starts while watching his ERA rise over 5.00.  He didn’t start against Boston last week, and the Red Sox lineup is struggling, but he still is a high-risk play based on his 5.59 ERA for the month of May.. Minnesota Twins. @ Red Sox. Trevor May. 30

Gee is coming off the DL today to take on the Padres in San Diego and start the Mets six-man rotation.  While Gee can be a good sleeper option, he hasn’t pitched in a month, so wait and see how he looks before making him part of your fantasy team.. New York Mets. @ Padres. Dillon Gee. 29. player. 3

Jason Vargas. 27. player. 7. Vargas has to take on Corey Kluber today as the Indians look to keep KC on the ropes.  Vargas was clearly on a pitch count in his last outing which was his first off the DL as he only went four innings allowing two runs to the Yankees as he fell to 3-2 on the year with a 5.16 ERA. Vargas can be a decent sleeper at times, but so soon off the DL and in this matchup isn’t that time.. Kansas City Royals. vs Indians
