NBA Finals: Kyrie Irving taken to locker room during Game 1 (Video)
By Josh Hill
The last thing the Cleveland Cavaliers need is an injury to derail their title run, but the fragile Kyrie Irving was taken to he locker room with a bad knee injury in Game 1.
The Golden State Warriors are cruising to an NBA Finals win thanks to facing a barrage of injured guards to get where they are. Maybe they’re cursed, or perhaps lucky, but the guards who face the Warriors keep getting injured. The latest victim was Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving.
Late in overtime of Game 1, Kyrie Irving injured his knee and hobbled to the Cavaliers locker room in obvious pain.
At first, Kyrie attempted to stay in the game, but the pain was too much and he was ushered off the court. Cameras that followed him showed the guard in an immense amount of pain as he badly limped to the locker room with his team still on the court.
The loss of Irving could be a brutal one, as the last thing the Cavaliers need is an injury derailing their title run. That’s what appears to be happening though, as losing Irving is like losing a limb on this championship beast the Cavaliers have built. You can only stitch so many parts onto Frankenstein before they stop taking and start falling off.
